Game Blogging: No. 13 Banning at No. 4 Crenshaw

I’ll provide quarter-by-quarter updates at Varsity Times tonight when No. 13 Banning visits No. 4 Crenshaw at 7 p.m., a first-round matchup, in the City Section Championship Division football playoffs.

The Times’ Eric Sondheimer predicts Crenshaw will pull out the victory, but others think Banning is primed for an upset.

The Cougars (6-3, 5-0) have won six straight after starting out the season at 0-3 and claimed their third Coliseum League championship in four years.

The Pilots (4-6, 3-3 in Marine League) have yet to go on a winning streak this year. Their last two wins came after three- and two-game losing streaks, respectively. Banning concluded the regular season with a victory over Washington one week after losing to Carson.

Throw out the stats and record books for now because every team is 0-0 in the playoffs. Visit Varsity Times throughout the night to see what happens.
