San Pedro’s defense helped put the Pirates in a position to score. On Venice’s second drive, San Pedro’s Corey Hughes intercepted a pass from quarterback Alfonso Medina and was brought down at Venice’s 36-yard line. Four plays later, Robert Franco ran in for an 8-yard touchdown with 2:59 remaining. Donald Jarrin’s extra point made it 7-0.
