Mater Dei made two key defensive stops, taking advantage of one of them to keep the game a tight.

Monarchs defensive lineman Kyle Hubert sacked Titans quarterback Robbie Picazo, forcing a fumble that linebacker Issac Lomeili recovered at Tesoro’s 39-yard line. Three plays later, Mater Dei running back Jaron Hytche ran for a six-yard touchdown to make it 31-28.

On fourth and nine from the Titans’ 35-yard line, Mater Dei defensive back Noah Rangel batted down a pass and the Monarchs had the ball. However, they punted after a three-and-out.
