I’ve come to Upland tonight to see if UCLA has found its next top quarterback in Richard Brehaut of Los Osos. He’s facing Stanford-bound Josh Nunes of Upland in a Central Division semifinal game.

Brehaut is only a matter of weeks from graduating early from Los Osos so he can enroll at UCLA in the first week of January and participate in spring practice. To say that the Bruins can’t wait until he arrives would be an understatement.

But Brehaut wants to go out with a championship, and the first obstacle is Baseline League rival Upland, a team the Grizzlies defeated earlier this season.

I’ll let you know what I think of Brehaut. I saw him during summer passing tournaments and was impressed. This is my first chance to see him in pads live.
