There’s one game left for Ventura St. Bonaventure this season, but the Seraphs have already put together an ambitious schedule for 2009, having agreed to play Long Beach Poly in Week 1 and Bishop Amat in Week 4.

But the game everyone in Ventura County wants to see -- St. Bonaventure vs. Oaks Christian --remains undecided. Athletic Director Mike Gianelli said Wednesday the game ‘is a possibility,’ with both schools having an opening at zero week.

But St. Bonaventure’s first choice for now is Loyola, and the school is waiting to hear back from the Cubs.

Bill Redell, the football coach at Oaks Christian, said his school is willing to sign a two-year contract with St. Bonaventure and allow the Seraphs to host both games, which would be huge money-making games.

It’s time for these two Ventura County powers to renew their rivalry, and it’s up to both schools to make it happen.
