The City Section rules committee has imposed a one-year probation on the Fremont and Crenshaw basketball programs for the fight that broke out between the two schools earlier this month. Both are still eligible to participate in the Division I playoffs and probation means their programs will face sanctions if anything similar occurs during the probation.

It also was decided that the next game between the two schools will be played as scheduled on Feb. 6 at Fremont at 7 p.m. Additional security will be in place as a precaution. Players and coaches from the two schools have been holding conversations in an attempt to ease any tension.
