A year ago, Santa Clarita Golden Valley went 0-10 in the Foothill League. Now the Grizzlies are on the verge of their first league championship. They are 22-3 overall and 7-1 in league. They need victories this week at home against Valencia on Tuesday and at West Ranch on Thursday to wrap up the league title.

On Friday night, Golden Valley received 31 points from Maverick Ahanmisi and a school-record 18 rebounds from Trevor Wiseman to defeat Saugus, 85-76.

It will be quite an accomplishment for Coach Chris Printz if the Grizzlies pull off their last-to-first achievement.
