Boys’ basketball: Fairfax breezes into semifinal

Lance Bailey scored 21 points and Solomon Hill had 16 points and 16 rebounds for second-seeded Fairfax tonight during an 83-61 victory over Washington in a City Section Division I quarterfinal.

Renardo Sidney had 10 points and 16 rebounds and Jordan Weathers had 16 points for Fairfax (25-3), which will play third-seeded Taft in a semifinal Saturday afternoon at the Galen Center. Washington finishes 21-8.

Sidney left the game a few minutes before the end of the first half with tendinitis in his right knee but returned in the second half. It was the first game for the senior center since announcing he would attend USC.
