Boys’ basketball: Loyola knocks off Simi Valley

Miles Cartwright scored 27 points and Carl Hoffman added 24 points as Los Angeles Loyola held off Simi Valley, 88-74, in a Southern Section Division II-A quarterfinal game. Brad Lewis had 38 points for Simi Valley.

The Cubs were leading, 74-71, with 3:41 left when they went on an 11-0 run to seal the victory. Loyola will play La Mirada in a semifinal game on Friday.
