The Catholic Athletic Assn. will not be accepting Ventura St. Bonaventure or Westlake Village Oaks Christian for the new releaguing cycle, St. Bonaventure athletic director Mike Gianelli said Tuesday.

The CAA has no formal process for accepting a new school. It must amend its bylaws, but it will not have time to complete the process for the new cycle.

That means St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian cannot be moved to the Serra League, made up of Crespi, Notre Dame, Bishop Amat and Loyola, for football. As it stands, the two football powers have been sent into a new league with Simi Valley Grace Brethren and Oxnard Santa Clara for the 2010 season, but all four schools are appealing. If the Southern Section agrees with their appeal, the Northern area will have to come up with a new league arrangement in May.
