Who would have predicted that Anaheim Canyon (24-6) would make it to the Southern Section Division III-AA basketball championship game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Honda Center without its standout point guard, Jerime Anderson, now at UCLA?

Well, the Comanches are still relying on the Anderson family, with Jerime’s brother, Christopher, a 5-foot-5 sophomore, serving as the point guard. He’s averaging 4.3 assists, and I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do against another surprising team, Santa Margarita (21-8), which lost its best player, Klay Thompson, now at Washington State.
