Ruffin Patterson, who played running back at the University of Redlands and has coached junior varsity football at Westchester, has been promoted to head coach.
Patterson has been a teacher at Westchester for 13 years. He also once served as an assistant coach at Santa Monica College and Redlands.
In 1999, he was designated as one of the ‘most inspirational teachers’ in Los Angeles by Mayor Richard Riordan and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
