Thousand Oaks, seeded No. 1 in Southern Section Division II-AA, is probably the only top-seeded team to enter a championship game as an underdog, but the Lancers have come away with a 12-10 lead over Lawndale Leuzinger after the first quarter of their final at the Honda Center.

Alex Tiffin, a 6-foot-7 junior, has five points for the Lancers (28-2). Leuzinger (25-5) has played a much tougher schedule than the Lancers, earning the favorite’s role, but Thousand Oaks is taking care of the ball and playing solid defense so far.
