Baseball: It’s Crespi vs. Simi Valley on Tuesday

There’s an outstanding early season baseball game set for Tuesday at Valley College, with Encino Crespi (2-0) taking on defending Southern Section Division I champion Simi Valley (2-0) at 3 p.m.

Crespi has a top junior second baseman in Kevin Williams, who had four hits on Saturday. Simi Valley freshman outfielder Nick Vigo, whose father, Denny, was a standout at El Camino Real and Chaminade, began his high school career on Friday by hitting two doubles. Sophomore pitcher Levi Shordon allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings on Friday.

Another top game on Tuesday matches Reseda Cleveland (2-0) and Newhall Hart (1-1) at Cleveland.

On Wednesday, Newbury Park (2-0) will play at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (2-0).
