Crespi used six pitchers and somehow knocked off defending Southern Section Division I champion Simi Valley, 5-4, Tuesday in a quarterfinal game of the Easton tournament.

Ryon Healy delivered the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh off closer Jonathan Meyer to send Crespi (3-0) into Thursday’s semifinals. Wiley also had a two-run single earlier in the game.

Simi Valley (2-1) got a strong pitching performance from Pepperdine-bound Cory Jones, who struck out six and allowed one run and one hit in four innings.

Simi Valley took a 4-1 lead in the fifth, getting a two-run triple from Chris Talley.

But that was all the scoring for the Pioneers, who couldn’t take advantage of eight walks. Zack Wiley had a two-run single for Crespi.

In another tournament game, Cleveland defeated Hart, 6-3, with Robert Almendarez getting a two-run single. Cleveland and Crespi will play in Thursday’s semifinals.
