Baseball: Should coaches post stats or not?

There are still baseball coaches who think that posting statistics of their players on maxpreps.com or other Internet sites gives opposing programs a chance for an easy scouting opportunity without having to show up at a game.

That might be the case, but it also takes away from opportunities for professional and college scouts to learn how a particular player is doing during the season when they are trying to monitor dozens of players, not to mention preventing newspaper reporters from learning if someone is hitting or pitching at a high level.

So I’m among those who believes there’s nothing wrong with posting statistics. College and professional stats are easily available, so why not high school too?
