Baseball: Renner is sharp in Chatsworth victory

Senior left-hander Mike Renner (2-0) struck out six, walked none and threw a five-hitter in Chatsworth’s 11-0 victory over Bishop Amat on Tuesday night in a nonleague game at Dedeaux Field.

Chatsworth (5-1) scored nine runs in the third inning, eight coming against Paul Paez, a junior left-hander who was 11-0 last season and has committed to San Diego. The first 11 batters reached base in the inning, eight of whom got hits.

Andrew Klausmeier contributed three doubles for the Chancellors. The performance by Renner is scary for City Section teams hoping the eight-time City champion Chancellors might struggle in the pitching department. Coach Tom Meusborn talks about Renner’s performance in video below.
