Drew Sandler struck out four, walked none and allowed three hits in six innings on the mound while also contributing two hits to help Simi Valley (6-3, 3-0) stay in first place in the Marmonte League with a 3-2 victory over Moorpark on Wednesday.

Jonathan Meyer, who also had two hits, pitched in the seventh. Simi Valley scored two runs in the seventh to win it, with Denny Vigo getting the key hit. Moorpark (6-3, 2-1) botched an attempt at third to get a runner going back to the bag, allowing the tying and winning runs to score.
