There might not be a hotter hitter in Southern California than Tyler Johnson of North Hollywood Campbell Hall. He has 24 hits in 31 at-bats, plus 21 runs batted in and five home runs.

‘He’s seeing the ball like a water melon,’ coach Juan Velazquez said.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Johnson plays third base and is an uncommitted senior. And his hits haven’t come against bad teams, either. He had two hits against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, three hits against Sylmar and four hits against Westlake Village Westlake.

Campbell Hall plays a home game Tuesday against Cerritos Valley Christian, then heads off to Las Vegas next week, with a game scheduled against Reseda Cleveland.
