After 19 consecutive losses to Chatsworth, Reseda Cleveland came away with a 3-2 West Valley League victory over the Chancellors on Tuesday behind senior pitcher John Wilson, who struck out 10, walked one and scattered seven hits.

Wilson (6-0) struck out Ryan Cooperstone with runners on first and third to end the game. Cleveland (14-3, 5-0) had not beaten Chatsworth (17-2, 4-1) since the 2002 season. And the victory was even sweeter because Chatsworth was ranked No. 1 by The Times, and the No. 20 Cavaliers took over first place in the West Valley.

Cleveland broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth when a throwing error by Cooperstone allowed Nick Kaid to score.

Mike Renner (5-1) took the loss, giving up seven hits. Chatsworth made two errors and had trouble all day handling Wilson’s curveball. The two teams play again on Thursday at Chatsworth.
