Football: Four locals selected for U.S. junior national team

USA Football is holding a junior world champonship this summer in Canton, Ohio, and four local high school players have been selected to play on the 45-man U.S. junior team roster.

They are Crenshaw defensive back Noel Grigsby, Encino Crespi receiver Kevin Cummings, Venice defensive back J.R. McConico and Anaheim Servite kicker Mike Loftus. Chaminade Coach Ed Croson is serving as an assistant coach.

The eight-team tournament will take place from June 27 to July 5 in Canton.
