Baseball: Sherman Oaks Notre Dame still atop Mission League

Josh Goossen Brown, relieved to start the the seventh after pitching six innings, returned to the mound to produce a double play and ground out to pick up the victory and the save in Sherman Oaks Notre Dame’s 3-2 win over West Hills Chaminade on Tuesday, enabling the Knights stay in first place in the Mission League.

Notre Dame (16-4, 6-1) received three hits from Kelly Dugan and two hits apiece from Nick La Face and Eric Walbridge. Shortstop Ranny Lowe was three for three with a home run.

Encino Crespi (14-7, 7-2) defeated North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, 11-5. Josh Mason had two doubles and a triple for the Celts.
