Spring football practice begins next month, and one team to watch is Valencia from the Foothill League.

‘I think we’re going to be real good,’ Coach Larry Muir said.

The Vikings’ top college prospect appears to be cornerback Brock Vereen, who has a scholarship offer from Stanford. His brother, Shane, was a standout at Valencia and plays at California.

Another top player is receiver Zach Tartabull, who has the speed and hands to match up with anyone. Valencia’s new quarterback will be Alex Bishop, who was 3-0 as a starter and is a top catcher for the baseball team.

The Vikings will get plenty of practice this summer competing in many seven-on-seven competitions.
