James Flynn, an all-star wide receiver for the Sherman Oaks Notre Dame football team, showed off his speed at Thursday’s Mission League track finals at Valley College.

Flynn outdueled Loyola’s Anthony Barr to win the 200 meters in 21.70. Flynn is headed to Lehigh. Barr ran a lifetime best of 21.85. Notre Dame freshman Jacob Smith finished fourth in 22.0, the best time ever by a Notre Dame freshman.

Flynn also won the 400 in 48.60 and was part of the Knights’ victorious 1,600-meter relay team. Loyola’s Elias Gedyon won the 800 in 1:53.37.
