Baseball: Kennedy, San Fernando win City Section play-in games

Valley Mission League teams Granada Hills Kennedy and San Fernando each won their City Section play-in games Monday to advance to Wednesday’s opening round of the baseball playoffs.
Kennedy defeated Woodland Hills Taft, 5-4, with Ryan Cruz picking up the save. Andrew Gold had two hits. Kennedy (16-16) will play No. 1-seeded Reseda Cleveland on Wednesday at Cleveland.
San Fernando defeated Marshall, 14-6, with David Armas getting three hits. The Tigers (20-11) will play at No. 2-seeded Chatsworth on Wednesday.
