Track: Long Beach Poly wins Division I girls’ title

Long Beach Poly won the Southern Section Division I team championship in girls’ track and field Saturday at Cerritos College.

Oxnard Rio Mesa took the Division II girls’ title, with San Luis Obispo winning Division III and Gardena Serra taking Division IV.

In the boys’ competition, Dana Point Dana Hills edged Moreno Valley Rancho Verde, 59-58, for the Division I title. It came down to pole vaulter Travis Stock picking up two points on the final event. Los Angeles Loyola took Division II, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame won Division III and Serra took Division IV. It was Notre Dame’s sixth team title in the last eight years under Coach Joe McNab.
