Near the halfway mark of Wednesday’s City Section Swim Championships San Pedro leads the boys’ meet and defending champion Palisades holds a slim advantage over Cleveland in the girls’ competition at John C. Argue Swim Stadium in Los Angeles.

Factoring in points earned from last Friday’s diving finals, San Pedro’s boys have accumulated 72 points, followed by Birmingham (65) and Cleveland (55).

Palisades’ girls lead Cleveland, 104 1/2 to 99 1/2, but if preliminary times are any indication the Cavaliers figure to make up that deficit in remaining events.
