Baseball: Hobgood escapes bases-loaded situation

The first inning is over in the Norco-Mater Dei Southern Section Division I playoff game, and the Monarchs learned what they are up against in facing Matt Hobgood.

Radar guns had his fastball clocked at 94 and 95 mph. The Monarchs were able to load the bases on two walks and a single.

But Hobgood ended up striking out the side, and Norco has a 3-0 lead after one inning.
