Kyle Jones delivered a game-winning RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Huntington Beach Edison a 2-1 victory over Santa Ana Mater Dei in the Division I semifinal at Blair Field in Long Beach.

Ryan Little and Tanner Phillips reached base on walks against Ian McCarthy. After Ryan Miller executed a successful sacrifice, Mater Dei brought in closer Matt Blanchard.

Blanchard struck out Jimmy Madden. But on a 1-0 pitch, Jones lined a single up the middle past a diving shortstop Derek Campbell.

Edison will play Capistrano Valley in Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. final at Angel Stadium.

Sophomore pitcher Henry Owens (10-1) struck out 10, walked two and allowed five hits for Edison.
