Baseball: Matzek strikes with his bat for Capistrano Valley

Tyler Matzek hasn’t made a single pitch, but he made an impact with his bat for Capistrano Valley in its Southern Section Division I semifinal game against Riverside Poly at Blair Field. Matzek hit a run-scoring single in the first inning to score Steve McMichael, who led off with a walk against Dylan Stuart, to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

Matzek is set to take the mound in the bottom half of the first.
