Baseball: A 40-year anniversary for City Section

Thursday marks the 40th anniversary of the first time City Section schools got to use Dodger Stadium as the site for their championship game in baseball.

Birmingham defeated Monroe in that 1969 City championship game, and Birmingham players from that team are getting together for a reunion at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 20. The Dodgers will acknowledge the anniversary, with former Birmingham Coach Hy Cohen expected to be in attendance.
