Football: Forget Oaks Christian _ Loyola has its own star power

Yes, Westlake Village Oaks Christian has lots of star power with the sons of Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky and Will Smith on the football team, but Los Angeles Loyola isn’t about to let the Lions steal the media spotlight.

Loyola’s starting quarterback this fall is expected to be junior Jerry Neuheisel, the son of UCLA Coach Rick Neuheisel. He won the starting job in spring practice and will try to keep the position in summer passing competitions.

And the Cubs have a promising sophomore receiver in Kodi Whitfield, whose father, Bob, was a standout offensive lineman with Wilmington Banning, Stanford and the Atlanta Falcons.
