Football: QB Nelson arrives at St. Francis

Brett Nelson, a 6-foot-3 junior quarterback who was the backup at Los Angeles Loyola, had his first practice at La Canada St. Francis on Thursday.

He only has three more summer practices left before St. Francis goes on its mandatory break. That could make it very difficult for Nelson to try to win the starting job during fall practice in August.

He’s also a promising baseball player.
