Baseball: Paramount is off to 2-0 start in Legion state tourney

Paramount opened the American Legion state playoffs in Yountville with victories over San Bernardino, 12-2, and Napa, 7-3.

Junior Jose Lopez struck out five in six innings on the mound. Senior Cristian Sanchez picked up the save. Offensively, junior catcher Jaime Valle had three hits.

Paramount will face either Merced or Charter Cove at noon on Monday.
