Football: Birmingham loses Briggs to injury

USC-bound running back Trajuan Briggs of Birmingham will miss Friday’s season’s opener against Garfield because of an ankle injuy, Coach Jim Rose said Monday.

Briggs was injured last Thursday, and his ankle is in a cast. Rose said Briggs needs to see a specialist to determine how long he might be sidelined.
