Football: ECR increases its lead over Hart

Logan Bates may have just delivered the knockout blow for El Camino Real in tonight’s intersectional game against Hart.

The All-City senior linebacker intercepted a wobbly pass by Hart quarterback C.J. Reyes (who was hit as he released the ball) and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. The ensuing extra point increased ECR’s lead to 26-0 early in the third quarter at College of the Canyons.

Hart got the ball back and drove past midfield before being forced to punt. Reyes’ kick was downed at the 8-yard line and the Conquistadors went three-and-out. The Indians take over at their own 48 at the halfway mark of the quarter.
