Football: Lakewood takes 21-15 halftime lead

The Crenshaw-Lakewood season opener is living up to expectations, with two top 10 teams filled with great athletes battling it out.
After Ryan Cummings came up with an interception for Lakewood on its own 24, quarterback Jesse Scroggins put together a nine-play drive, passing 14 yards to Chris Davis with 16 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Lancers their first lead, 21-15.
Scroggins has been magnificent, calmly and effectively picking apart the Cougars while given excellent protection by his line. He has completed 10 of 12 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
