Trevor Olson, a 6-foot-5 1/2, 218-pound senior quarterback transfer from Evergreen, Colo., completed 14 of 24 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns last week for Los Angeles Cathedral in a 26-10 victory over San Gabriel.

‘He has a great arm and great feet,’ Coach Kevin Pearson said. ‘He’s strong as heck.’

He also has one of the top receivers in the Southland in Anthony Jefferson, who caught both touchdowns.

Olson would have been a backup except the expected starting quarterback, sophomore Mikhail Poole, is academically ineligible until Week 7.

Pearson had to simplify the offense until Olson picks up everything. But Cathedral appears armed and ready for a late-season showdown against Gardena Serra.
