Boys’ basketball: Get ready for Taft-Serra game

Now that 6-foot-10 Kevin Johnson has transferred from Gardena Serra to Woodland Hills Taft, mark down Jan. 30 on the calendar because that’s when the two schools are scheduled to meet in an 8 p.m. game of the Fairfax State Preview Classic at Fairfax.
Other boys’ games: La Canada vs. Windward, 1:30 p.m.; Campbell Hall vs. Oceanside, 3 p.m.; Santa Monica vs. Torrey Pines, 4:30 p.m.; Price vs. Crenshaw, 6:30 p.m. At noon, in the lone girls’ game, Fairfax will play North Torrance.
The Price-Crenshaw game ought to be a good one, with both teams loaded with talent.
