Arleta, which was 14-0 last season and hoping to complete another unbeaten season, has been forced to forfeit its season-opening 43-14 victory over Marshall because of an ineligible player, the City Section announced.

What happened is that Antonio Bray, who transferred from Canyon Country Canyon to Arleta, received a one-year penalty from the Southern Section for submitting false information. That ban stopped on Sept. 12. Arleta played Marshall on Sept. 11. Arleta and the City Section did not receive the information from the Southern Section and Canyon until after he played against Marshall.
