Some teams will be playing their fifth game of the season this week, which makes it a good time to take a second look at the City Section.

When the season began, Crenshaw was the heavy favorite in Division I. The Cougars have only enhanced their reputation with a 4-0 start going into a final nonleague game Friday against Culver City.

The big surprise is that no team has emerged as the primary challenger to Crenshaw. It could be Dorsey, Carson, Taft, Narbonne, Venice or San Pedro. I think Taft has the most potential with the addition next week of Agoura transfer Lucky Radley.

Dorsey is the unknown team. If the Dons keep improving, they should have quite a Coliseum League matchup Nov. 6 against Crenshaw.

In Division II, the big surprise is unbeaten Woodland Hills El Camino Real (3-0). The Conquistadores have the advantage of playing in the Division I West Valley League, which could get them ready for a playoff showdown against Arleta.
