Stanford-bound linebacker Jordan Zumwalt must be a quick healer, because he was back on the field for Huntington Beach Edison (6-0) last week against Esperanza and will be playing Friday in a key Sunset League matchup against Newport Harbor.

Zumwalt missed Edison’s game against Santa Ana Mater Dei under doctor orders. He had a broken bone in his hand that was causing pain and required healing. But he was back on the field two weeks later, and the Chargers needed him.

There is a big difference in Edison’s defense with and without Zumwalt. The best chance to beat the Chargers is with Zumwalt on the sideline. Now that he’s back, good luck to opponents, because they’re going to need it.
