Servite defense holds on opening drive

Servite’s defense has held _ barely _ on the opening possession of the game. Mater Dei was stopped on fourth down at the Servite 21-yard line inches short of a first down.

Junior quarterback Max Wittek was impressive directing the Mater Dei offense. He hung in the pocket under pressure and showed no fear. The Monarchs had four first downs on the drive.

Mater Dei picked up first downs by twice converting on third-down situations as hundreds of Servite supporters stood in the stands and tried to use noise to fire up their defense.
