Los Angeles Roosevelt took the opening possession and put together a 71-yard scoring drive, with quarterback Brandon Sifuentes catching a five-yard touchdown pass from Manny Ayon for a 7-0 lead over Garfield.

Elgin Rosales had a 22-yard run for Roosevelt on the first play from scrimmage. He added a 12-yard run on third-and-seven from the Garfield 36.
