Huntington Beach Edison is seeded No. 1 and Mission Viejo is No. 2, but with perennial powers Long Beach Poly and Santa Ana Mater Dei not seeded, it could be an interesting four-game tournament.

Rob Wigod, the Southern Section assistant commissioner who helped put together the bracket, talked about the decision by the committee to choose Newport Harbor over Encino Crespi for the lone wild-card berth and how the bracket was put together, not to mention Mater Dei and Long Beach Poly lurking in the bracket.
