Woodland Hills Taft received 162 yards rushing from Lucky Radley, including an 80-yard touchdown run, and two touchdowns from D.J. Morgan, but an injury to Morgan marred the Toreadors’ 44-14 win over Garfield.

The USC-bound Morgan injured his knee on a 15-yard gain at the outset of the third quarter. He said afterward he hopes it’s only hyper-extended, but an MRI is scheduled for Friday and the team doctor and others were concerned about the extent of the injury.

‘The kid is an absolute superstar,’ Coach Matt Kerstetter said. ‘It’s rough, but we only can do what we can control.’

Taft has lots of depth at the running back position and might be able to survive the absence of Morgan with Radley and Shaquille Shelton, who had a 44-yard TD run.

Quarterback Bam Goodall had to leave the game in the second quarter but should be ready to go for Wednesday’s quarterfinal game against Dorsey.
