OK, enough talk about next season. Yes, I know everyone is excited about Ventura St. Bonaventure and Westlake Village Oaks Christian joining the Marmonte League in 2010, but there might not be a better game on Friday night than the Northern Division semifinal between St. Bonaventure (11-1) and Westlake Village Westlake (12-0) at 7 p.m. at Westlake.

‘They look like a college team,’ Westlake Coach Jim Benkert said of the Seraphs.

Westlake has been the big surprise this season. The Warriors are loaded with top sophomores and juniors. They were supposed to be a year away from being championship material, but everything changed when they routed Moorpark in a Marmonte game.

‘We’ve been able to age every week up to the Moorpark game,’ Benkert said. ‘We responded well. Our kids think they can win, and that’s a big part of it in high school.’
