Boys’ basketball: Villa Park coach is serving suspension

Villa Park boys’ basketball Coach Kevin Reynolds is serving an eight-game suspension to start the season as punishment imposed by the Southern Section for engaging in undue influence, according to Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons.

Reynolds served a two-game suspension last season, but the Southern Section wanted an additional eight games.

Reynolds told the Orange County Register that he would not fight the suspension.
