Exavier Edwards ran eight yards for a touchdown with 5:27 left in the first quarter to give Mission Viejo a 6-0 lead over Servite. The conversion kick was no good. It was a 75-yard, 12-play opening drive.

Mission Viejo got a 22-yard run from Tre Madden out of shotgun formation to get its offense on the move. Servite’s Matthew Inman came up with the key tackle of the opening drive, dropping Exavier Edwards for a two-yard loss on the Servite 22 on third down.

But Dallin McEwen completed a 14-yard pass on fourth down to Maurice Green to keep the drive alive.
