I’m drinking hot chocolate and trying to stay warm on a cold night at Orange Coast College, where Huntington Beach Edison and Lakewood are about to get started in a Pac-5 Division semifinal game.

Edison has won all 12 of its games, with few close calls other than an overtime game against Santa Ana Mater Dei. Lakewood offers the challenge of having USC-bound quarterback Jesse Scroggins, plus the kind of athleticism and quickness that the Chargers haven’t seen much this season.

The winner will face Anaheim Servite in next Saturday’s final at Angel Stadium.
